Always wanted to do it and we were in a private pond in my buddy's john boat. Of the first 100rds through it, 25 were underwater. A few FTFs but overall super impressed of the durability of these awesome guns!

Pretty cool that you did that, at first I read pool instead of pond....and I was thinking this guy is xxxxing crazy!

FWIW, One of the guys at my LGS put just told me he put the spring cups on his...for the life of me I could not figure out why he did, other than to say that he has them. I guess its better to have them and not need them than the other way around!

I have a set of the spring cups for my G17. Haven't used them. Been sitting in my parts box for well over 2 years.

I read in another post on here that the martime cups cause the striker to have less drag than the regular cups. Not sure if this is true but it would make sense after reading the above article.

Its quite simple really, as the outer circumference of the cups is what drags backward within the channel liner when you squeeze the trigger. The marine cups have less than half of the contact area with the channel liner than the regular cups.

How many people can say that they have shot there gun underwater? I'm guessing not many if I had a spare gun I could see doing it just to say I have done it

Shooting my gun underwater is just slightly more interesting than talking to my ex-wife.

Now, put my ex-wife under water.................

Interesting, 9mm NATO is supersonic. The two statements contradict each other.

I've shot a Glock 22 underwater. Pretty intense. I shot it in a lake about 20 feet out. It shook the ground enough to wake my girl and brother who were on the shore. And it hurt. Lot of pressure to the rear.

Because the increased pressure of firing against water, instead of air, can damage your barrel/chamber/etc/, or so they say.
