I've noticed I can shoot smaller groups, and shoot smaller groups faster with the single stack Glocks (42 w/ extension, 43 w/ extension, 43x, and 48) than my double stack 19 and 17.
Would smaller hands have something to do with it? Or do I have a weird subconscious recoil anticipation quirk?

A few others guys in my club and my father have experienced the same as I have.
Anyone else perform better with the single stacks?

Yes, I think smaller hands would be a contributing factor. It's easier to get a wider gun to track vertically, assuming your hand fits around it properly.

I think the fact that the gripping surfaces on a Glock plane with the sides of the frame straight up to the slide is a big advantage over more irregular configurations.

Single stacks fit some people's hand better, and thus are more accurate for some people- IMHO.

Make sense. I can't shoot double stack Sigs or 2011/double stack 1911 based pistols.

I shoot my 48 better than my 19. I attribute it mostly a better trigger engagement with my shortish fingers. If you can begin trigger engagement at or beyond a 90° bend, you can have much better trigger control.

    Yes I “perform” better with a single stack, but it’s a 1911

is all in your head. learn the gun grip and you will do good. I shoot my shield and G21 full size the same . I adjust the grip accordingly.

Can't argue with your results, if it works better for you, then you're good to go!

I've owned and fired everything from single action revolvers to G41 and find that the gun I'm holding will perform as well as i am able... solid fundamentals and practice with a wide variety of firearms!

I can shoot my 43 just as good, if not better, than my 34 at any distance. Not sure what it is but it's true. And the 34 feels better in my hand! Although I wear a XL glove, I don't have big hands, just long fingers.

I shoot my 48 OK but not as well as my 43.

I have had my Glocks in the past 20 years but I have found that my Glock 43 has been my very best shooting Glock of them all. I do have small hands and this grip fits my hand the best of them all and this is the reason. I hear many of these experts say that grip and trigger control are the most important part of accurate shooting and I have to believe this is true. Single stack is right for me!

Once i put 3 layers of bicycle inner tube on my 43X my accuracy improved.I still shoot my G34 and G17 better than the 43X.

Duh... welcome to my perfect gun for 40 years.. the 1911.. single stack... single action.. thinner than a glock.. best trigger in the handgun world..

    Its too heavy...
Its too cold cause its steel..

Grow a pair and carry a real gun..

I would think it’s finger placement depending on your hand size.
