I bought a new Glock 21 today at the gun show. I've wanted one for a long time, mainly to shoot pins and for fun. I stopped by the Georgia Arms booth and picked up some 230 grain Gold Dots. Got home and looked at the package and see that the ammo is .45 +P. Guess I should learn to look more closely at the label, though I never knew there was such thing as +P in .45. Anyway, my question, is .45 +P a punishing round (for the shooter, that is)?

I've shot plenty of +P loads in G21's.They're fine. There is no 45ACP load I would ever consider punishing. They will have more recoil than regular loads, but not at all punishing.

I'd hesitate to fire the +P's regularly in the G36, but in either the G30 or G21 you can fire tens of thousands of +P with no worries.

Those pistols are hell for stout.
