I need a good pair of shooting gloves.
I would like the best cut resistance while maintaining good dexterity. What do you guys use?

    Thoughts on Hatch, 5.11, or…etc?

I like Hatch. I use the ones designed for frisking with sharp objects and teeth being of concern.

I had a pair of Hatch for many years, and recently replaced them with 5.11 gloves when I managed to lose ONE FREAKING GLOVE.

I'll be going back to the Hatch soon. Just overall fit better and were more comfortable.

Motorcycle glove with a padded palm. Very good for climbing fences and stuff.

I use either the 5.11 el cheapos that aren't lined and like my esteemed colleague above, I lost one glove from two pairs. Unfortunately, it was the left glove both times.

I also wear a pair of Fox motorcycle gloves that have a silicone strip on the index and middle fingers of both hands that make it easy to grip triggers. They have carbon fiber knuckles but the knuckles have grown uncomfortable as of late. Either are good. I too am looking for something different.

I got a pair of Franklin Kevlar-lined gloves about 2 years ago, and I've been very happy with them so far. They're comfortable and have saved my butt from being bit a couple times so far. I do remember they were pretty spendy, tho.

Whatever you do, practice your draw and shots with gloves on. As an FI, I see members attend the range and fail when they shoot with gloves on because they've never practiced.

My shooting is about 10% worse when gloved. I use Hatch.

It just keeps getting better, don't it?
For general use like cold weather wear and range, I use standard Nomex flight gloves with the leather palms. Great dexterity for shooting and also really works to prevent chafed palms or pain in the web between the thumb and forefinger.

For searching suspects, I have a pair of the kevlar/spectra Hatch gloves. Friskmaster or whatever it's called... forgot already.

I use Hatch with the super cool white "Police" letters on it. Everyone thinks I am from Swat when I wear them :whistling:

Thanks guys. I picked up a pair of hatch Street Guard with X11 liner. Besides being a good shooting glove they will double as a summer motorcycle glove.

I use the hatch with the spectra liner and the elastic cuff for dealings with prisoners and the hatch shooting gloves with the thin leather palms and the nomex back. the lined gloves are a bit thick for shooting.

Since my town doesn't have SWAT then I'll just stick with my Hatch gloves with the blue neoprene backing. I wouldn't want the citizens thinking we got a raise or sumptin. :wavey:
