Gidday Everyone,

I've been trying unsuccessfully to purchase an after market G34 barrel with conventional rifling locally (Australia). Nothing is available:steamed:

I can purchase from the internet companies like Brownells in the USA because they don't have a US State Dept Export Licence to export barrels overseas.

I really do not understand the laws and was hoping that someone may be able to advise if it is legal for soneone in the USA to sell me a 2nd had barrel and ship to Australia if the price is under the $100.00 limit for gun parts? Or are barrels treated differently (even if under the $100.00 limit).

Any assistance would be appreciated. My factory barrel hates lead bullets and plated/jacketed are just too expensive.

Firearms and parts fall under our ITAR laws and regulations.

Here is one small section listing restricted items that require state department licensing.

*** *(a) Nonautomatic, semi-automatic and fully automatic
firearms to caliber .50 inclusive, and all components and parts for such
firearms. (See § 121.9 and §§ 123.16-123.19 of this subchapter.)

If the price is under $100.00, there is no State Dept License ($250.00) necessary, however it MUST still be lodged with AES(Automated Export System) to be allowed out of the country. All firearms parts and accessories are governed under ITAR(International Tariff in Arms regulations). This will still require a licensed exporter to ship your product and the company making it needs to be a US State Dept licensed manufacturer. Most exporting companies charge about 15% and the license fee.

PM me and I will check with one of our Australian Distributors, but I don't think he does aftermarket barrels.

Theres a dealer in Sydney selling KKM stainless barrels for Glock 34s, he also sells them in 357sig to fit the Glock 35.

As for lone wolf and other brands (i think from memory the limit now is $200 not $100) so im pretty sure youll find some companies are willing to ship them from the US - ive known quite alot of people who have just simply bought them over the internet and had no problems - however if you shop around through the IPSC Org Australia site youll find some links there.

Now as for leading in factory barrels - im upto 12k of lead molycoats in my glock 17A and i never get leading - i have a 34 too and its had roughly 3k of lead molycoats through it - no leading whatsoever, i even load my glock 31 with a factory barrels with molycoats up around 1300fps and get no leading, are you using bare lead?
