Personally I’m not a fan of the short seven round mags. The pistol is perfect imo with the eight rounders. Who makes some good base plates I can swap out on the seven rounders?

Nothing cumbersome, not really after plus one or two extensions, just something to mock the factory eight rounders if possible.

    TIA!

Why not post an ad to trade your 7 rounders for someone else’s 8 rounders? Then you get the benefit of the additional grip, along with the benefit of an additional round.

Increase mag capacity on all your Shield mags and add a pinky grip if needed.

Thought about it, just figured this would be less hassle. Plus I ordered more eight rounders the other night which I’ll keep as reloads over the seven rounders.

Thanks, just trying to keep it as factory as possible. Really don’t want to swap springs like that.

FP - hey check these base plates out. I am about 99% sure these are the brand I have on my Shield and I love them. I had tried the Pearce ones but didn't like them. But the base plates I have I paired with the hogue grip and it makes my Shield feel great in my hand. Also it looks like the have a larger extension since last I looked years ago.

For the short time that I owned a shield I also had the ndz baseplate and really liked it.

This is what I did a while back. Within a day, someone responded and we did the swap by mail. Worked out great. Was going to do what the OP was planing but in the end, 8 round mags are perfect for me. There are lots of 7 round mag fans out there so you won’t have any problems and it won’t cost you anything except a little postage.
