This was started over who's mom's kimchee is better. No way the North could make claims on Korean BBQ... Not enough meat.

Can never tell. The leadership in the north is crazy enough to do about anything!

IF it happens, and the South has time to mobilize, the South will stomp the poop out of the North until the dumbass UN wants a ceasefire (so the North can get help from China and Russia IMO). I just hope they terminate that fat pig and his whole family either on the ground or in the air when he tries to flee.

Of course, it may not get that developed and they may just continue the cold war between them, which has been going on since the Korean war was stalled and put on hold in 1953.

I have a friend who was in the Marin Corps, and his unit patrolled DMZ for 6 months back in 2001. He had 4 Marines in his company wounded by North Koreans shooting at them from across the border. It goes on all the time.

We're not in South Korea to keep the North out, we're there to keep the South from invading the North and drawing in China.

neither side wants to actually go all out. each side is like kids in a school yard circling while touching shoulders and daring the other to start something first.

Nothing new. They've been trading bullets back and forth for over Fifty years. Happens all the time, only now the ordinance is larger. Nothing to see here, Folks. Move along.

The guys up north are as crazy as a rat in can. Add to that nukes and ranges short enough that even their ballistic missiles are reliably effective and you have the makings for things to go pear shaped in a blink. One reason I always hated being in South Korea.

My sister-in-law is from Seoul. She says she grew up with the firm belief that if war ever broke out she and everyone else in the city would be dead the first day. It was just something they accepted and rarely discussed or thought about.

You have a guy as crazy as Idi Amin Dada running North Korea, nukes 35 miles from Seoul. The military options without suffering unacceptable loses are as close to zero as they get.

Kind of like inviting Charles Manson to every family holiday dinner and hoping things turn out ok.
