A bit of an inflammatory title but that was the comment I saw on the local news here by the SF POA union president.

It seems there was a case in SF where an LEO was attacked by a guy with a knife or machete or something....long story short, the DA won't file charges on the perp.

SFPD is understandably up in arms and LAPD is backing them. A buddy is a LEO in SF's Tenderloin district and he says things are coming to a head and LEO's are sick of it.

I can't find a link to the story I saw on TV- Perp was Joaquin something...

Heres a link to background on this Chesa Boudin...parents were former Weather underground. Its the SF Chronicle...so its going to be a favorable slant.

If these asshats think it's bad having cops enforce the rule of law they're really gonna be unhappy when there's nobody willing to be cops anymore

And to think some felt my idea of a trucker boycott of say SF, LA, etc was a bad idea. This is the kind of crap I am talking about.

SFPD was hurting for cops a decade ago. Until the rich and powerful in that city feel the hurt nothing will change.

I have long wondered how officers in some jurisdictions can do their job. The pressure was always on for us to be proactive. Now being proactive is considered police harassment in some cities. It would seem that for officers to survive their career without being terminated and/or prosecuted, they might choose to do as little as possible to avoid offending anyone..........

Here's the really bad part...once the city reaches the point of ineffective policing the powers that be will use that as an excuse to bring in the guard or create their own draconian method to further cement their power and control. Having lived there many, many moons ago I know how messed up the city was then and it has only gotten worse.

God bless all of the first resonders there...there ain't much in the way of support for them from the city!

JUST ONCE, I would love to see ass-clowns like Boudin ride along with a couple officers in a rough part of town for a week.

So I had the facts slightly wrong...it was an officer attacked with a bottle. The same person was a suspect in an earlier robbery. Its essentially the same chit show with the DA showing zero respect for LEO's on the street. This is the same voter role that put Pelosi in office.

SF Chronicle picked up the story today, here

It’s a mess with no foreseeable solution..the boycott has merit but I’ve no idea how to implement something that large...plus to keep it within the law...Now, if it’s time to cross the line of law, (not yet for me) I’m sure there are many Americans willing to use a more direct effect approach...no matter how you view it, it ain’t good... I’m afraid that a career in LE, especially metro, isn’t very promising anymore...

One possible option is simply for officers to follow their department's regulations. I mean, really follow them. Trust me, most dept's regs are so skewed to the "Cover the Butt" mode, following regulations is the same as a job-action.

Boudin - Weather Underground? As in Kathy Boudin? Sure enough, he's listed right in her Wikipedia entry. So the DA's mother is currently on parole from her 20-life sentence for killing 2 police officers and a security guard, while robbing banks to fund the communist/black-nationalist overthrow of the U.S. Government?

This guy's family is literally the evidence that our country has gone to &^%$.

    Wikipedia:

Kathy Boudin (born May 19, 1943) is a former member of the far-left domestic terrorist[1] group Weather Underground who was convicted of felony murder for her role in the Brink's robbery of 1981. The robbery resulted in the killing of two Nyack police officers and one security guard, and serious injury to another security guard.[2] Boudin was released from prison on parole in 2003 and became an adjunct professor at Columbia University.

"Kathy Boudin was born on May 19, 1943, into a family with a long left-wing history. She was raised in Greenwich Village, New York City. Her family was Jewish. Her great-uncle was Louis B. Boudin, a Marxist theorist. Her father, attorney Leonard Boudin, had represented controversial clients such as Judith Coplon,[3] the Cuban government,[4] and Paul Robeson.[5] A National Lawyers Guild attorney, Leonard Boudin was the law partner of Victor Rabinowitz, himself counsel to numerous left-wing organizations.[6] Kathy Boudin attended Bryn Mawr College and is a member of the class of 1965.[7]

Boudin fell in love with David Gilbert in the 1970s and gave birth to their son Chesa in 1980.[8] When her son was 14 months old she was arrested and subsequently incarcerated for murder and bank robbery.[9] Her son was raised by former Weatherman leaders Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn.

you are my winner for today’s internet truth prize!

it seem to be an untenable situation in a hostile environment. The only way to survive it to drink coffee at the station. Which does nothing for crime rates.

    Description
Malicious compliance is the behaviour of intentionally inflicting harm by strictly following the orders of a superior knowing that compliance with the orders will not have the intended result. The term usually implies the following of an order in such a way that ignores the order's intent but follows it to the letter. Wikipedia

In Texas the Attorney Generals office can step in and prosecute if needed. Does CA have anything like that they could impose?
