Tragic for those wounded, and if any are dead, for their families.

This can swing either way - regardless of the affiliation of the person(s) with the gun(s).

Shootings are always more of a catalyst during an election year. Be aware, be alert.

It's a sad situation anytime any innocent person(s) are killed in cold blood. My prayers go out to the victims and their family.

Unfortunately this will be probably be used as propaganda by the limp wristed liberals in an attempt to push thru their anti-gun agenda. And right before Barry and Hilary are "supposed" to sign the ATT too

and some people think im weird because i pack a gun!!!!

this day-and-age, you cannot even go to a movie without the possibility of some deranged whack-job-psycho coming in and going full postal on the crowd......

and its always easy to armchair-quaterback, but just imagine if there were at least one CCW holder in that theater!!!!!

    sad......very very sad :(

All of the theaters here are posted with a " gun buster" sign.

    GOD THAT MAKES ME SICK:steamed::steamed:

these places that have their damned signs that think they make people "SAFE" in a "gun free" zone....LMAO

ya know, F those signs and F these stinking laws that make people sitting ducks for some whack-job who does not give a rats A about signs or laws for gun control....:steamed:

this makes me so GD mad i can't see straight:steamed:

just ONCE i wish we could hear about something like this mass-shooting and read "citizen with CCW shoots crazed-gunman fifteen times center mass before he can kill more people"

Movie theaters are one venue where I've always felt the compelling need to take along a gun.

Just terrible is right. Of course I've never been there, this came up at a training event a while back. Let's assume there you sit, unarmed as events unfold. The advice from the instructor was to rush the perp as attention was even slightly diverted, with the mindset of a kamikaze linebacker. I also realize this takes intestinal fortitude that many lack. A logjam of people running away makes it all to easy for the shooter.

After the Columbine shooting the timeline was moved up, to immediate. That is no waiting around for Swat to show up when immediate action is needed.

Of course one size doesn't fit all as to a response.

This ASSUMES you are there with NO gun.

Even though I agree, If something like this was to happen and i was able to stop it . I would face a multitude of charges . It does my family no good if I'm in the pokey. This is why I don't go to these places anymore

We don't know for sure there were no armed CCWers at that movie theater. We only know for sure nobody took any action.

    What charges?

If you were in that theater, and stopped that guy, I doubt you're going to be facing charges.

    Oh, and just a thought.

Ya have to be alive to face charges. Your family has to be alive for you to sit around wringing your hands, worrying about charges. If they were dead, you probably wouldn't care too much about charges.

This can happen anywhere. Just ignore the fact that it took place in a theater. Could be Walmart, gas station....anywhere.

I really doubt someone with their CCW would have made much difference....guy was wearing body armor, had set off some sort of smoke bomb, dozens of panicking, screaming people running for their lives in a dark theatre.... but I'm sure plenty of people here are deluded enough to think they'd calmly make that head shot.

Per SC law. If businesses post a gun buster" I will not patronize their establishment . Plain and simple. Violating the provision of my CCP Does me or gun owners no good. This is why I don't go places that are posted.

I assure you that if you were anywhere close to the epicenter of this, where the shooter was within sight of you (1-120ft), night sights, or any sights are things that would absolutely be useless to you, on the gun.

While I await more information I say a silent prayer for the families of the deceased, and for those who were scarred by this.
