CAn anyone recommend a person who can clean the lenses of a scope. Thanks in advanc
If its only external, treat it like you're cleaning an expensive camera lens. Be careful of the minute dust, it can cause scratches. Photo-BOGs can chime in better on how they clean their optics.
But if internal, then factory warranty may have to be invoked.
Lens pen, available in photo shops.
It is an old scope that is really dirty inside -hmmmm.... My friend was asking if it was still salvageable. Will see what he will decide.
You could ask a shop that specializes in camera repair to take it apart and clean it, surely a technician who takes apart cameras for a living could do the same with a scope.
Can they re-fill it with nitrogen?
Does camera lens have nitrogen as well?
Dunno about that, the only things I know being filled with nitrogen over here are tires. Anyway it's an old scope, and new ones, even Bushnells, are expensive.
For example, a Millett DMS-1 like the one I had costs P25k at Hahn.
there was one being sold I can't remember for 12k used - I should have gotten that dms
Yup I think being old and really dirty is a good gamble to just have it cleaned.
Brow CatsMeow, I like your sig line - I just read that from Asterix - HAHAHAHAHA. I just love Asterix
Oh yes, Asterix in Britain. Fully Booked at The Fort has complete Asterix, and Tintin as well. The last one I got was Asterix and the Class Act, a compilation of short comics.
The DMS? If you want one PM our favorite BoG supplier, that's how I got mine.
hehehe... enough spending first
Hmmmm.... I think I should pay a visit to fully booked soon
Nitrogen helps against fogging. Kita mo yung gulong di nag-fog.
Mahal pala DMS dyan, 250%. Nabenta ko na yung Eotech516 baka bili din ako Millet. OK ba?
The DMS? It's big, heavy (didn't know how heavy till I removed it), rather unforgiving re parallax, but I loved it. Mine didn't have the infamous "fungus". Best mount for it is the LaRue LT-104-30.
And since it's considered a sporting scope, no restrictions.
