I´ve seen some Glocks with S/N ending with "US". The usual two or three letters, with three numbers, and then US.

What is the meaning of this "US"? Guns made for some specific agencies?

    Thanks

glock with seriel numbers ending in "US" were manufactured and assenbled in Austria for importation into the USA. If the seriel number lack the "US" at the end, the parts were manufactured in Austria but assembled in Smyrna georgia at the glock plant and are slated for US and overseas markets

Here is some Glock trivia concerning the "US" suffix in serial numbers.

We were told in the Glock, Inc. Armorer Course, and I wrote it down in my notes, that the US suffix was discontinued after serial number FED000.

I sent in a G26 that was recalled by Glock and they replaced the frame. The serial number on the new frame had a 1 in front of the old serial number. As I recall the reason was the the number did not change so in states where the serials were recorded you would not have to fill out a new yellow sheet and reregister you new frame.

I have a Gen 2 G17 that was aparrently made in Austria, since it has the US suffix. Any difference in quality?

I have a year 2000 made G21. My serial number is DVA---US. So, Austrian assembled guns were imported up to 2001-ish?

It's amazing how fast misinformation spreads on the internet. Glock stopped adding the "US" at the end of the serial numbers in 2002. All Glocks sold in the USA are made in Austria and assembled in the USA. Glocks made in the USA are for export only, and use a different serial number system.

I do not believe this, why would guns with "US" say made in Austria and guns without it say Glock Smyrna, GA?

    How is that S/N system?

And do you know what markets are supplied from the US - Canada?

Glocks had the US suffix early on because Glock in Austria had separate production lines for guns that were to be sold to different markets. The ones being sent to the US didn't require some of the things that the ones being sold in Austria and Germany required, such as proof testing. I think it was GRT45 who said this, that Glocks sold in the US no longer had the US suffix beginning with the serial number prefix FED.

Supposedly some of the full size frames that do not say "Made in Austria" are made here, but the slide and barrel are made in Austria.

The only reports of USA-made Glocks so far have come from the Philippines, and supposedly the first 100 USA-made Glocks were offered for sale to the employees of the Smyrna, GA facility.

Here are some threads showing USA-made Glocks, they have a serial number system of
    AAAA-000

Good info. Just purchased a Gen2 G23 Frame off GunBrokers a week ago or so and it has the US on end.

    Serial #BKH---US year 1995.

I have two (2) G19s that have serial numbers ending with "US." I am always on a Quixoteic mission to find a Glock with the same serial number (imported, obviously) but without the "US" suffix.

    And I'm guessing the gun won't be a G19. More likely a G17.

Glocks made in the USA are presently exported to countries that, due to WWII Treaties, cannot do business with Austria. Not all models are made in the USA. Glock dropped the "US" from serial numbers many, many years before production began in Smyrna, GA.
