Sent in the TRP for some custom shop lovin' this morning. Here's the list:

    radical bevel
    flush crowned barrel
    single sided safety
    high undercut trigger guard(Colt style)
    carry cuts(to remove FCS)
    bead blasted to a satin/matte

Should be a different looking TRP than you usually see. Supposed to be ready around the first part of March. We'll see about that. I'm not in a hurry anyway. They can take their time as long as it turns out great. Kinda stoked, as this is my first dealing with the CS. They've been really good to deal with so far.

That sounds like it will be pretty sweet - and very unique. Can't wait to see the results.

The carry cut isn't on the build sheet IIRC, but it's $35. And I can't remember if the flush crown is on there either, but it's also $35. I wish I would have done this sooner. In September, the radical bevel went from $220 to $450! :wow:

I cannot get SA's website to open in three different browser. Found a price list. No mention of Hi-Power cut or ball cuts on it. You are saying they only charge 35 bucks to remove FCS and they call it carry cut? price not counting refin of course.

Funny thing is, that I love the TRP as is. Maybe this'll give me a reason to get one in AK. :whistling:... I doubt that will happen, but I wouldn't mind a railed TRP. And I'm not even a rail fan. :)

Sounds like a complete waste of money except for the single safety and beadblast.

The Colt style undercut is ugly and can rub a blister.

"Carry cuts" or "Hi Power" cuts make it look like the FCS were milled off.

Radical bevel makes it look like a refinsh gone horribly wrong.

Flush crowned bbl is a fad that has been popping up lately. I thought the blunderbuss was behind us...

A tool steel hammer, sear and plunger tube would be a good upgrade...:whistling:

Your post sounds like a complete waste of time. I like the Colt undercut. And it fits my hand really well. Maybe your hands are just too soft to handle it. :dunno:As for the carry cut, it'll look like it was supposed have a carry cut, as SA's shop is top notch. Plus, I don't like FCS. The bevel job not only looks great, but also serves a purpose. I have a flush crown on just about all of my 1911's and like the way it looks, as well as it's purpose to protect the crown. You're really not very well educated in this stuff are you? And talk about a waste of money, a tool steel hammer, sear and plunger tube...? Really? Here's an idea, you have your guns built the way you want, and I'll do the same. Unless you'd like to foot the bill? Then your opinion might hold a drop of water or two.

Good call. If you don't like his build specs and your opinion is that it's a waste of money....great, leave the thread and move on. That was an uneccesary post. To bash him and say everything you don't like about his choices was just a ******bag move.
