Has anybody ever sent their Glock back to Smyrna, Ga for a detailed cleaning/inspection and replacement of worn parts?

If so, how was your overall experience?

Was there anything required on your part before sending it in, i.e. taking all the lube off the pistol so that it was bone-dry, outlining in a letter specific areas of the pistol that were of concern, having the magazines inspected, etc.

Just a curious mind. Thanks in advance.

Why not join GSSF the URL is below.

Then wander over to Topton Pa. on August 19 or 20th.

You can stand there and watch the factory armorer do it in front of you, then shoot the match.

You have plenty of time to join and preregister for the match.

I only trust me to work on my guns, but we sent my wife's Glock 17 for a frame replacement due to the recall issue a while back. No real problems, it just takes a while and they aren't doing anything you couldn't teach a monkey to do.

Also, if you have any custom parts in the gun, like a 3.5 lb. connector, take them out before you send it. I have heard you won't get the aftermarket stuff back (even a Glock 3.5). I put a + connector in when we sent the 17, to replace a - connector, and got it back with a standard 5.5.

Thanks for the info. I've been thinking about joining GSSF for quite a while...sounds like I've procrastinated long enough!

Thanks again!
