    Goatranch got me thinking...........

What happens when you "send error message" ??

Does anyone know how Microsoft (I'm assuming) handles these? They must get tens of millions of them per day from just about every software compnay.

    I'm Curious Erik today.

Supposedly M$ uses the error reports to improve their products ... has anyone seen any improvement in their products???

    Most users disable this "feature"

I disable it on all the machines I service, along with their bastard-child Windows Messenger Service security hole...at least they fixed THAT one with SP2...

How would I go about disabling that? Thanks! Erik

Here is a little utility called XP AntiSpy that lets you disable some built-in update and authentication "features" in Windows XP. It allows you to disable error reports, services etc ... just select the items you want to disable and click apply, and it saves a lot of time. I’ve been using it to quickly disable services on every computer I service for several years and I have never had any problems.

You can get more info at http://xp-antispy.org/content/view/12/40/

After downloading the file replace the ".txt" to ".exe" (this file is an executable, renamed for uploading)
