Any feedback on S&B 9mm 115gr FMJ? There are some good prices out there on this ammo, but I've never tried it. I'm looking to make a bulk purchase of 1000 rounds and it scares me to buy that much of a brand I have never shot. What are your experiences with it?

I have had no issues with it. Some here say it is a bit faster than some of the other 115 gr stuff.

S&B is good ammo, I do shoot their 9mm and 223 (when price is right), never an issue. Cabela's have them @ $9.99 today, it is a good price.

That's what I've read too. It technically classifies as a +P load.

    And FREE shipping!

How about USA AMMO? Anyone here try them? They have new 124gr FMJ for the same price. Given the choice, I'd much rather buy USA made than Czech made.

Great ammo. I still have a 1200 rnd case of the stuff from years ago. I was especially impressed with S&B's Range Safe steel cased 9mm. Excellent accuracy and not one problem out of a case of 1K.

S&B is probably one of my favorite range rounds. The kind I use(d) is steel case, but brass-coated steel case. Felt much much hotter than any other range ammo I've shot.

I've blasted a bunch of the 124gr stuff. Never had a problem.

I'm slowly getting my wife interested in shooting 9mm instead of just sticking with the .22 all the time. Do you guys feel S&B would be too hot for a small female beginner? I don't want to scare her off just as she's showing more interest.

OK...I placed my order with Cabela's! I chickened out just a little. I'm still concerned about buying all 1000 rounds of something I've never shot before, so I ordered 550 rounds (11 boxes) which was the minimum required to use the free shipping code. Not a bad deal at $9.99 a box! I still have it in my budget to get 500 more rounds of something else. I'm thinking maybe American Eagle, USA Ammo, or Blazer Brass. I'll have to watch for deals.

There is definitely softer shooting ammo available. If your goal is to avoid her being put off by the recoil, I say pick something else.

S&B is as good as it gets in my book, at any price (not comparing to premium defense ammo, but stuff like Win Ranger NATO). I've shot several thousand rounds over the past year. It solves 99% of the brass in the face problem some have experienced with gen4. Never had a malfunction shooting it in G26 (gen3 & 4) G17/G3, or G19/G3.

Some of the USA Ammo calibers are reloaded ammunition. Difficult to determine on their website which is which. S&B is my choice for practice ammunition and I'll even pay a little more for it simply because it's relatively clean and has an excellent power factor so will work in virtually any gun.
