I wish I had bought the OD G36 to begin with but it wasn't in stock at the time and the OD G30 was (I'm a very impatient gun buyer!). Would love some input on the situation from those that own the G36. Is it worth the effort? Thanks and Happy Easter! TGG
Guru, that is a BIG....NEGATIVE...... Keep the 30.....years ago i owned a 36 and was about as unreliable as the Glock 32 i owned about six months ago..... if you 30 is shooting reliably...KEEP IT..... Love your Sig-Line.....although i believe in about 5-10 years we are all going to have to learn our new national language: Spanish
I myself would not sell the G30 that is an awesome firearm, JMO but I really don't care for the G36, If I wanted a firearm that hold 6+1 I would just get a nice 1911.
LOL speak for yourself I'm Mexican American born and raised in California and I don't speak a damn word of Spanish. I will never learn This is America so why should I learn I AM PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN!!!!! I totally agree, No Amnesty for Illegal Aliens.
If you plan on carrying the gun I'd go with the 36, especially in a climate like Florida's. The extra .14 of a inch between the 30 and 36 doesn't sound like much but to me it made a huge difference. With the 36 I can conceal it with a IWB holster wearing shorts and a normal fitting t-shirt. With the 30 I'd have to wear much looser clothing. Let me also add I had bought a 36 before and sold it to fund a Kimber ultra Raptor. Man I really, really, really regretted selling the 36. In fact I ended up buy another about 3 months later. I never a problem with either of them.
You are correct - it is definitely an awesome gun!!!! It's just that the compact 1911s are NOT cheap, but I do like how they feel in my hand
get the 36. Ive carried a 30, 29, and a 26. The 26 is slightly smaller overall but the 36 is really comfortable iwb for a .45. I carry my 36 EVERDAY!
I like the extra rounds with the G30... I heard many people speak of the reliability issues with the G36... Good luck with your decision...
I owned the G36, G30SF, and now the G30. I experienced reliability problems with both the G36 and G30SF. I carry the G30.
My 36 has 600+ rounds with not one single issue. Ive shot, remington(green white box), remington umc, speer, lawman, and some cheap american ammunition co. stuff. All flawless.
Thanks! It will not be an easy one. Some like the 36, some hate the 36. I guess it's just a luck of the draw sort of thing. Either way, at least it's a GLOCK! Decisions, decisions TGG
If you want something that has firepower and is as thin as the G36 then get a G23. There's no way I would sell the G30 to buy the G36, but that's just my Opinion. The G30 is an outstanding firearm, and conceals well even under a shirt OWB because it's bout the size of a G19, just thicker. Just my $0.02 YMMV
you dont have the option to use the hi cap mags with the G36!and there is nothing like having 14 on the nightstand or 10 on your hip and 13 on your side! If you need something smaller get the G39 or just get the G27.or just buy another Glock but dont get rid of your G30 for the G36 u will regret IMO. GOOD luck!
I have the G27 and it is my favorite of the five Glocks that I own, but it's only a .40 and is a bit wide due to the doublestack magazine. I figured the G36 would be that "fine line" between comfort and caliber The G30 is huge compared to the G27 Can anyone put the G27 SxS with the G36 and then post the pic? That would be a big help! Thanks, TGG
To me it sounds like you want the G36 more than the G30 to begin with so why not? It's really up to you and what you want, just make sure it's OD . Manny
