In the past year I sold most of my long guns except my main SD AR15 and my M&P15-22, the first question is do I need a secondary long gun or should I just stay with my AR?. If do get a secondary long gun should it be an AK74 or a HD shotgun?

Only one or two? Try about a half dozen. Always keep two around, IMO. And add an 870 for three gun. ;)

That really depends on weather you want more or not. If you don't want more, don't waste your money.

If your asking for an opinion on another long gun, get a pump shotgun. Remington 870 or Mossberg 500

I'm mostly in an urban area and I prefer my 870 to a rifle.

Remington 870. 12 ga. 18-1/2" barrel w/2 shot extension.
Lots and lots of ammo and practice.

Hard to argue with the 870/500/whatever 12g.

handgun, shotgun, semi-carbine, .22; that about covers every practical situation....

I say get an M1A, a FAL, or an AK-47.

The AK is a lot of fun to shoot, the ammo is cheap, that's my vote. Plus, not to overreact, but AKs may not always be available, whereas 870s will be one of the last things to go Bloomberg.

It depends on your area. Out west I might recommend a .308 or similar caliber for the long range stuff. Around here in the woods I would say a shotgun would be a good choice.
