Didn't see any threads on this one.
Man this guy is in real trouble.
He boarded a Japanese security ship for their whaling fleet, got arrested for his trouble and now is in Japan facing criminal charges..
They are going to fry this guy. Japan doesn't play...

    Update:
    http://www.japantoday.com/category/...ivist-upon-arrival-in-tokyo#show_all_comments

Seems he didn't have the ground swell of support he hoped to have when he got to Japan.

I hope the moron does hard time. He's lucky he wasn't shot on sight when he illegally boarded the Japanese ship in the middle of the night.

I'm sure he thought the "media" would rally around him when he was brought in, and he'd have the chance to tell the world of his heroic efforts to save the.............whatever he was trying to "save".

Don't think it'll work out that way, darn it.

Japanese jails aren't that great. And being a foreigner on top of it, good luck.

Of course Bob will probably go his bail, if he gets any "bail" that is.

The Japanese court should sentence him to four months of various sumo wrestlers to sit on his face around the clock, minus their loin cloths.

He's been asking for this for a long time. He probably thinks he'll get tons of media attention over this, and some sort of personal intervention by Hilary Clinton too, but I doubt it.

He didn't hurt anyone, and is not a violent criminal. The best punishment for this guy is to put him somewhere there are no cameras and no publicity.

The Sea Shepherds activities include ramming a Portuguese vessel in 1979, sinking an Icelandic ship, causing the collision last January 6th and throwing butyric acid on crew members. Such activities are criminal and violent in nature.

From what I understand (Navy briefings) Japanese jail is pretty bad. There is no talking allowed, and they only serve some sort of fish stew for food. Sucks to be this clown.

Curious to see what happens to him. If the Japanese don't want to encourage this kind of behaviour, they better come down hard on this guy.

Seeing as how Japan classifies them as Eco Terrorists, I'm pretty sure they're screwed. I read a blurb about them a month or so ago that the United States is trying to get the classified as Eco Terrorists as well.

If that happens I wonder if there will be charges of aiding and abetting a terrorist organization levied against their monetary supporters and animal planet

Haha that's great, I hope the Japanese make an example out of him.
