What is the most common phillips bit size for around the house? Say for the size of screws used to mount cabinets to the wall or screws used in some wood furniture etc? Screws used when installing doors and hardware? Drywall screw size? You get the idea. Is it number 2?

Do you like the little 1" bits that you put into the holder or do you like the 2" bits that you put right into the driver/chuck?

The answer to your question is to go to Harbor Freight and buy about ten dollars worth of Phillips bits - some short ones and some long ones and maybe a couple double sided ones. Then take them home and put some in different locations. Then a few weeks or months from now you will increase the chances of finding one when you need it.
