Anyone involved in Scottish Rite?
I belong to the Valley of Fort Worth in Texas. I am a member of the Stage crew for the degreesand have been for almost 25 years.
That's pretty cool. I'm just hoping to get started in AASR, but I was curious about a couple things.
How do they elect officers? Is it like Blue Lodge in that regard?
Are there any rituals that if a person took an office they'd be able to study? Last one; are there different officers for each different body?
I realise you're probably in the Southern Jurisdiction, but it'd still be interesting to hear what you have to say.
There are four Lodges in the Valley of Fort Worth Scottish Rite. 1. Lodge of Perfection 2. Chapter of Rose Croix 3. Council of Kadosh 4. Consistory Each one has its own officers and you can be an officer in more than one lodge. The officers are usually 32nd KCCH and 33rd Degree Masons. It is basically like in the Blue Lodge, you start at the bottom and work your way up the ladder.
I'm in th Valley of Cleveland SR. We have two reunions, one in the Fall, and one in the Spring. These are where new members join and numerous degrees are portrayed. They also meet during the year and may put on a degree or two. I am not an officer in the bodies so I can't be much help there.
