GT seems to need a way for moderators to score threads, if they would be willing to take on that responsibility. It's a feature found on slashdot.org and its ilk, but I've never seen it on a gun site. If threads were just scored at say three levels (2, 1, and 0) it would help users choose how much or how little BS they want to wade thru. Esp. on GNG. I wouldn't say individual posts need separate scoring because that would take too much time, but it would be nice, although you can use Ignore for persistently worthless posters. I'm suggesting these guidelines:

2: new, unusual, timely, thoughtful, informative
1: commonplace topics (caliber wars, model wars, etc.)
0: degenerate, irrelevant, unfunny, chat-room talk (LOL!!)

I would always be checking out the zeroes. Those seem the most fun.
