Did anyone see this show on (I think) NatGeo the other day? Their claim, unless I am way off base, was DNA research has proven that every man alive today is descended from a single ancestor tens of thousands of years ago. I don't see how that is possible. How could no other human's offspring have not survived? And doesn't that mean that the human race came within one man of winking out of existence? What I am missing here?

(We're not talking Biblical Adam here, but Scientific Adam).

Amazing, innit, that not only did that one man not wink out of existence, but a fully human woman evolved concurrently, and close enough geographically, they were able to do the wild thang and have a baby. DAY-umm, if 'chance' was not lucky.
