The most reasoned response so far!
(cue the 'what is American culture' trolls)
It wasn't...his "edit" was erasing mentioning the kid's grandpa being a drunkard.
Yup...its blown over locally.....
Community Organizes March to School that Told Student to Remove Flag
I kill a lot of pumpkins and squirrels.
You get it...
These are my thoughts exactly, I mean really what were the specific threats to the boy's safety. The person that made the decision to have the flag removed was taking the easy way out apparently. Sounds as though some other nationality must have taken this as a "statement" against theirs, and therefore were "offended". This folks, is what should have been addressed by the superintendant in the news clip.
ETA, so after watching some of this clips from page 4, I now realize that flying certain flags is just like wearing gang colors to some people. Ever seen those Perkins flags? I think that we could chip in to buy one for Cody.
Life under the big red star...
.....I would love for the local H.O.G Club "Harley Owner Group" to get involved in this, They would probably give Cody a fifty bike escort to school one day with Cody out front, All with American flags on there bikes.....
Speak when you know what you are talking about. Texas (or CA for that matter) didn't let in any Mexicans. The federal government is the one that determines if foreign nationals are let in. The state has no control over that.
wow.....the country i love is going to the ****ter.....
i agree 100%
This is America. The school didn't want to deal with the Hispanics so they told the boy to take it down. Culturally sensitive of them, and perhaps lower effort.
But this is America. I would be pretty willing to bet that the kid knew what was up in the school, and choose to live as an American with pride. Like almost all Americans, he was willing to take the risk for his flag and country. If he got his butt kicked for it, it would have been fine. Then there would have been a swift and just response as the kids are hauled off to prison.
The fact is that the Hispanic base was a problem, and he knew the kid would not be. Rather than protect the kid and respect the flag, he gave into the thugs and took the flag down. Isn't that called surrender?
This is the mentality that is teaching the children. The future leaders (Obama's) are growing up indoctrinated with this stuff. This is your tax dollars at work.
Spit the bait out before he sets the hook.
This is exactly the mentality that brought to UK to its current nightmare condition.
I hoped the US would be the last bastion, the holdouts, but apparently not.
It's interesting that adm chose to go after the kid doing nothing wrong and ask him to remove the flag, instead of going after and expelling the kids making threats.
The kid is way above average in maturity and at least the school reconsidered their actions.
Barney Fife "Nip it in the bud!" Nip it! Nip it! Nip it!
Parraz said he got calls from halfway around the world about the flag controversy. Some soldiers in Afghanistan called to complain.
Good. I hope they get many. I don't expect my email to get answered. It wasn't very friendly.
