My nuvi 1300 that had been problematic finally dies, got a few years of good service out of it though and miss having a gps, now i see there are too many models out there, wondering 2 things:

First, i got an antenna for it with a round hole on the end, for my birthday, apparently it amplifys signal so you dont lose it in bad weather, etc, problem is nuvi 1300 didnt have that connector on it so it was useless, what models are compatible?

Also, whats good models are same size to fit existing gps stand?

I have an older Nuvi 750.

It has the little round socket for an external antenna, but I've never used one. It does take a couple of minutes to sync to the satellites when you first turn it on. I've never had any problems with it after it syncs.

aparently my antennas for smartphone type models or something? Ah well. I may get another nuvi 1300 or similar size (any ideas?) as my mount fits it already
