My Belgian Malnois/Retriver mix buddy Scarlett had to be put down today. She finally gave up the ghost after almost 12 years of hard core frisbee catching and watch dog duty. Her back legs just could not carry her anymore. This is a bad day...but I am confident she is now in the "Great Playground" beyond where the frisbees are golden and she will run forever.

    Jolly Roger........

I am so sorry to hear this.......she was a gorgeous dog. I hope when you are ready you look into getting another to compliment her, not replace her. It's truely one of the most horrid things, albeit, the most humane things we can do to relieve their pain.

It just sucks. My thoughts are with you.

    Jolly Roger,

As I told Rockchucker in his thread, you made the world a great place to live for your friend. Your mercy and courage in knowing when to let her go will surely bring you blessings.

I just put my dog down a little while ago.
    She was Wolf/Chesapeake bay retriever.
She lived to the ripe old age of 16.
It was especially difficult for me ebcause I grew up with her.
We got her when I was 2-3 years old.
