After all these years of hearing about them, even seeing television programs about them and their mysterious purpose, I finally saw two of them. They flew over our home at about 150 feet at most, both armed to the hilt. I heard the noise and ran to the back sliding door and saw one go over the house. Ran to the front of the house opened the door and saw it's tail going over the trees and then another one flew over giving me a pretty good look at it's unmarked and fully armed flat black body. I think they were Blackhawks, but I was pretty out of my mind with excitement at the time. The neighbors and I all witnessed this. Pretty awesome, I felt like Red Dawn was about to break out. Anyone else seen them recently?:dunno:

Yes, I see them several times per week.

Perhaps it is because there is a VOR on the next hill about a mile away.

I see them all day everyday. Probably cause they are built 4 miles away from
    my house.

The ones you can hear aren't so bad. It's those silent ones that give me the eebie-geebies.:tinfoil:

In the summer time, the copters fly over my area a lot...scouting for pot plants. Wonder how much they pay to keep the 'eyes-in-the-sky' to bust a couple clam diggers growing something in the woods.

VOR, short for VHF Omni-directional Radio Range. Radio navigation aid used by aircraft. A lot of times, pilots will fly from one VOR to another, so the airspace directly above a VOR station can get a little crowded sometimes.

"The Test Site" aka area 51 here in southern Nevada has all kinds of stealthy test aircraft flying around. Its so popular now tourist go out and get contacted by men in black at the property line just to see if its all real?

I would have thought it was all rumors and hype until one day one of our state Troopers had to investigate a suspicious package found by a tourist way out in the desert. (there was a theft of mining explosive earlier in the year) He happened to have a 4x4 SUV so he checked it out visually first. As he approached the shack about a dozen SpecOps looking guys popped up out of the bushes. I guess it all was good after that?

There are lights with no sound out there all the time. Who knows what technology they are testing out there nowadays...but the black helicopters are just a drop in the bucket.

I've been spotting the less sneakier white helicopters in my neighbor's yard recently.

So what is more scary, 2 fully armed Apache's like the one above, or 2 fully armed Blackhawks?

Don't the Blackhawks normally just get a mini-gun (or less) since they are a transport helicopter?
