So I bought a little Saturday night special on a whim. It is a Raven mp-25. I know it a cheap little gun and not to depend on it for anything. I did figure it would be fun to shoot at the range, until I went to buy some ammo.

At my local Meijer: (Meijer is a little cheaper than Walmart on some calibers around here)
    WWB 100rd of 9mm for $19.99
    WWB 50rd of .25ACP for $19.99

I get that 9mm is much more common. But double the cost? Is there some reason beyond being less common to make it twice as much?

Trade the gun for a cheeseburger and move on.

It is pretty much just the popularity. The less common rounds are always more expensive. Around here no one even carries .25 ammo.

I always thought .25 acp was underrated. If it was priced closer to .22 mag and loaded a little bit hotter and chambered in semi-auto rifles and quality pistols it would be a popular varmint round. :dunno:

I recommend S&B as its hotter than US ammo or Hornandy JHPs if you want accuracy. For an SNS the Raven is quite good I've had 4 before and I highly recommend them.

Good price on the 9mm, though.
