It will take the citizens of these cities standing up and demanding these mayors protect THEM first. It seems they are only concerned about protecting illegals!

When the federal funds dry up and the checks stop coming, the mayors will be singing a different tune.

This, and I'd love to see Rahm thrown out by his constituents.

Except the most entrenched of them (SF, Chi, Philly et al.) will dig in, vowing to remain the last of the sanctuary cities, after jurisdictions with any sense get rid of sanctuary policies to come into compliance with federal law.

Then when they are up for re-election they will run in the primaries against a mayoral challenger who says "F the illegals, we want our free $$$ back." And the labor unions, gimmiedats and block captains will agree.

I wish it would be rising up demanding protection, but since they are urban hellholes, I assume it will be rising up demanding the free stuff that the Feds are offering.

Trump should cease all federal funding to sanctuary cities and, if they still resist, send in federal audit teams to assess the corruption of the local government and take appropriate action.

And who would replace him. Remember the last election? The best opposition candidate was Chewy. That's the issue in Chicago and cook county. Nothing but poop sammiches are allowed to run.

It will be an interesting show down.

A Mayor's decision to Sanctuary his city is mostly like because his city is BLUE, rather than Red back in Nov. I would think a mayor IS what his city IS.

So what we will have in the coming "interesting times" is that a Republican President refuse to support a Democratic strong hold.

Did I say "interesting times" already ?

It's certainly been interesting listening to my friends freak out about how trump is going to deport "totally innocent law abiding people."

Can cities like SF possibly win law suits against the US to retain federal funding? Eric Holder must be saying a city can break federal immigration law and come out on top in a suit to keep funding.

Remember, this is the same leftist stooge who decided it would be a good idea to give guns to Mexican drug cartels and then was held in contempt of Congress. He was caught lying and wouldn't admit to anything.

So if California is going to pay Holder to parrot Husseinian immigration policies as a legal consultant, he will gladly cash the check.

The citizens of these cities generally support the sanctuary concept. How do you think the mayors got into office?

Maybe trump could order all benefits turned off to residents of those cities? And yes, that would include SS. Old people vote. And they have nothing better to do with their time.

    Gotta love that mentality.

The mayor of New York actually said "He will not deport law abiding New Yorkers." So he agrees with Trump then as there is no such thing as a law abiding undocumented immigrant. So these mayors want to harbor undocumented immigrants who contribute nothing to society at the cost of losing billions in government funding.

Even more ironic is how the 10th Amendment gets brought up as a means of condemning the Executive Order by saying it is forcibly requiring sanctuary cities to "participate in a federal program". I see a very simple choice to be made there. Stop defecating on federal statutes regarding undocumented immigrants or stop reaping the benefits of sticking your had in that same governments wallet for a handout.

But as always, it has to be made about racism.....the defacto argument when there is no sensible argument.

But what about the sanctuary counties and states? Will he cut them off too? (I hope so!)

What is the motivation for sanctuary? Do illegals pay a lot of taxes or something?
