Why would someone get in trouble for #1 if they don't get in trouble for the more troubling #2?

My answer to most things involving someone being incredulous about something involving the city by the Bay?

It's SF. The sun comes up in the East and sets in the West. :p

It sounds like he comes from a long line of America hating idiots.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chesa_Boudin

    "
Boudin was born in New York City.[1] His parents, Kathy Boudin and David Gilbert, were members of domestic terrorist group Weather Underground.[2]

When Boudin was 14 months old, his parents were arrested for murder in their role as getaway car drivers in the Brink's robbery of 1981 in Rockland County, New York.[1][3] His mother was sentenced to 20 years to life[4] and his father to 75 years to life for the felony murders of two police officers and a security guard.[5] After his parents were incarcerated, Boudin was raised in Chicago by adoptive parents Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, who, like his parents, were members of the Weather Underground.[6] Kathy Boudin was released under parole supervision in 2003.[3][7]

Boudin descends from a long left-wing lineage. His great-great-uncle, Louis B. Boudin,[8] was a Marxist theoretician and author of a two-volume history of the Supreme Court's influence on American government, and his grandfather Leonard Boudin was an attorney who represented controversial clients such as Fidel Castro and Paul Robeson.[9] Boudin is also related to Michael Boudin,[8] a judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, and I.F. Stone, an independent journalist.[8][10]

Boudin went to St Antony's College, Oxford on a Rhodes Scholarship in 2003.[2] At Oxford, he earned two master's degrees, one in forced migration and the other in public policy in Latin America. He earned his Juris Doctor from Yale Law School in 2011,[11] and began work for the San Francisco Public Defender's Office as a post-doctoral fellow in 2012."

From his mothers page on wiki. Why do we let these people teach at universities?

"Kathy Boudin (born May 19, 1943) is a former member of the far-left domestic terrorist[1] group Weather Underground who was convicted of felony murder for her role in the Brink's robbery of 1981. The robbery resulted in the killing of two Nyack police officers and one security guard and serious injury to another security guard.[2] Boudin was released from prison on parole in 2003 and became an adjunct professor at Columbia University."

Columbia employing a domestic terrorist with a felony murder conviction? Man, if you're a leftist they will overlook anything.

I prefer nicer places. I assume waiting area of his office is legal as well? Or is it "not in my public area"???

This is sad that San Francisco is choosing to allow this behavior. I just can't understand it.

What would you expect? That city will be tearing itself apart in the next few years if this continues.

I wonder how much urine and feces in front of his front door it would take for prosecutions to begin again? Not much I bet..........

It’s funny how things make you change your mind.
I was going to leave a large chunk of my money to my university.

After seeing what could happen with it, above, I think I will change my will this week. (Luckily, wills are what I do in my retirement, so it won’t be difficult.)

So leftards have effectively legalized publicly urinating on the sidewalks in San Francisco?

Why not, its what the *******s have been doing to everything good and decent in America for decades. Why leave the sidewalks out of the same treatment?

It's a boon to older males like me with frequent urination urges. I hope that NYC follows suit because that will make visits there a lot cheaper.
