If they could somehow rub the offending poopers nose in their own feces, I would be happy to pay.

If you're going to feed them, you should also be responsible for pooping them

I guess maybe it is just me who is quite skeptical as to the accuracy of the benefits costing 113000 a year for a 71k a year job.

It could be quite a department!!

If you were the Director, you would be the D.I.P Sh*t or Big Sh*t
    (Director of Intensity Programing)
    BOSS IN GENERAL
    (B.I.G. S.H.*.T.)

If you were the head of the training dept, you could be a H.O.T Sh*t
    (Head of Training)

Can't handle the job? You would be placed in the: DEPARTMENTAL EMPLOYEE EVALUATION PROGRAMS (D.E.E.P S.H.*.T)

or: EMPLOYEE ATTITUDE TRAINING (E.A.T S.H.*.T.)

Training would begin with: BASIC UNDERSTANDING LECTURE LIST (B.U.L.L. S.H.*.T.)

I want to see the breakdown. You should be able to find that on transparentcalifornia.com. You just need to know official job title or name of employee.

It is a little high for benefits vs pay. SF does have their own pension plan vs CalPERS so there may be some issues there.

I looked at the pics and some of those guys were in full hazmat clothing.

And yes 71k a year is low income in SF. If it was one person head of household with two kids and a spouse you could buy a house...in Stockton. Two incomes at that level could get you to Livermore. In a fixer upper bungalow. Oakland if you buy a burnt out crack house that has been red tagged.

Ok. I looked. Could not find a poop patroller job listing. I did find out that non public safety employees benefits are about 36% of base pay. I am betting that it is "hazard pay." Probably time and half or more for time in hazmat suit. Kind of like anyone who dives for our city get 2.5x base for time spent underwater.

I am not sure how accurate or valid this is:

    https://sanfranciscopolice.org/site...ssion020817-SFPDBudgetPresentationFY17-18.pdf

But it seems to suggest that SFPD spends 387m in salaries and 124.4m in fringe benefits; or about one third above the wages for benefits which seems fairly standard for roughly estimating budgets.

Perhaps these folks really will have benefits that cost about one and half times their pay compared to the benefits their officers get. Or maybe the San Francisco Chronicle was wrong and Zerohedge did not question it despite their financial expertise. But probably not because there is one side that responds to emotion over reason and logic. The other side while regularly noting the inaccuracies of main stream media including newspapers would never be fooled just because an inaccuracy happened to be pleasing to them emotionally.
