I have 2 AKs, one Saiga in.223 and a GP75 in 7.62x39. Both run just fine and are adequately accurate for what I need them for. I'm trying to decide if I should get rid of one and concentrate on ammo in a single caliber. What would you do? Which would you keep and why? I know the Saiga is a "nicer" gun, but the GP75 is also a good gun, so I'm thinking ammo availability might be the biggest factor.

I would keep both. If ammo gets scarce for one caliber you have the other to fall back on. I have 3 ak47s in 7.62 and over 2k rds but everyone I know is buying it all up. Im looking to buy an ak74 and start getting 5.45 as the demand isnt as high

I've decided ti keep both those cals. covered. In fact, I have 2 rilfle in each of those 2 calibers that can share magazines. One is none and 2 is one philosophy.

I've got a Saiga .223 and a WASR-10/63. Ammunition for both is available through domestic manufacturers. I was thinking about getting an AK-74, but I don't know of any domestic manufacturers for it yet and I'm afraid that once the available surplus gets used up 5.45x39 will be scarce. Besides, .223 and 5.45x39 are pretty much similar, ballistically speaking.

I guess now I'm leaning toward keeping both. However, if the price of 7.62 keeps climbing, I might think again about selling the GP75. I could buy a good amount of .223 ammo for that amount. Thanks for the replies.
