I spent 3 years in senic Minot,N.D. I forget the Wing #. We had BUFF H mods. I worked 1ST in bomb nav & ta radar & then went to the other end of the plane and worked on the 20mm gun system. might have stayed in but they wanted to send me to limestone for a change of scenery.

My first assignment was with the 456th Bomb Wing. We had mostly G's but we had a couple of H models and a couple of Fs used for cann birds. The wing was redesignated the 17th and then eventually dispersed to other units. Went to the KC-135Q model with the 100th Refueling Wing for chasing the SR-71 around the planet. We also had T-38s and the U-2 co-located. We definitely spent a ton of time travelling.

Here is a question for ya, what is a SAC trained "killer" anywhoo???

Do REMF count or other flightline, non combatants or otherwise unarmed SAC troops count as Sac trained "killers";g ;g ;g

I spent 6 years at Offutt & then was at Minot when SAC was put out to pasture and USSTRATCOM took over Offutt and it's mission.
