Title says it all. I have an alloy-frame SA Mil-Spec and have an opportunity to maybe trade for a SIG P220 Match. Straight trade, no cash for me or the other dude. I am on the fence. Any thoughts?

My only thought is "Why the heck are you on the fence?" That's like someone offering to trade you straight out...their loaded Escalade for your Chevy Blazer that doesn't even have A/C.

    Sig P220 Match - MSRP $1170.00

    SA Mil-Spec - MSRP $753.00

As long as the Sig is in a similar condition as your 1911, your coming out of the deal WAY ahead.

As much as I like the mil-spec, it would be gone in a nano-second!

Yes...trade. BTW, are you sure your SA Mil-Spec has an alloy frame?

I sold my SA Mil Spec in '05 w/ 3 mags and a holster for $380... and it wasn't the crappy G.I.

I wish someone made me an offer like that!!!

Yes, the LW, circa 1993. I am not a sentimental type of guy, but it was my first 1911, and of the ones I have had the only one I have not traded. That's the reason I am on the fence.

Completely understandable. The LW Springers are nice pistols.

I'd still trade, before he relized how much it's really worth !

I'd trade before the other guy pulls his head out of his ***.

Have you inspected the other gun? Do you know the history of it? Call me a cynic, but if a deal sounds too good to be true....

People who like 1911s are typically drawn to them for emotional reasons. Rational dollar for dollar thought doesn't factor in.

Although... his mood could also change quickly. Maybe he just watched "Saving PVT Ryan."

Actually, you'd better call him up NOW!

If it were me, you could color that Springer gone! I have several SIG's and several 1911's and like both. But that is a great deal that I wouldn't be able to pass on.

I'd jump all over that trade.
