Anyone know about this discount program. I am wondering how much discount usually runs. Looking for the S&W M&P Shield Plus in particular.

It varies by model, according to one of the FAQ answers. I've never used it, but if it's at all similar to the older (discontinued) armorer student discount program, it may be 30-35% for some models? I used to have to call the factory (LE sales dept) and ask them for a particular gun that I was considering ordering. If you can locate a participating dealer near you, perhaps they have a list of the discounts?

I was once told the VIP Discount (think Chief/Sheriff) could run up to 50% on some guns, and that the employee discount was similarly nice.

I went through the M&P 2.0 armorer course in March. No deals, no discounts, no nothing. I asked the rep what kind of armorer class discount or swag we were getting and like an after thought, he pulled out a cool smif n wesson sticker. Don’t expect much in the way of anything from them as he was not aware of discounts or deals for LE or armorers.

Surprised he didn’t mention the guardian program.

Yeah, we were told they'd finally stopped the old armorer discount program when it was discovered that some students (cops) were copying their discount certificates and selling them to others. I guess the color copy machines made it too difficult for them to identify the actual originals? Dunno. Back then the certificates were only good for 1 year after completing the class.

Once the program was discontinued we were told in some subsequent armorer classes that in order to get the same discount we used to receive, we had to go to the nearest S&W LE distributor in order to buy a gun at a discount. I didn't bother to do that, and missed the old program. I bought my fair share of discounted guns from the factory over the years I was attending armorer classes under the old program.

Colt used to have a similar LE discount program, giving students a discount on a new gun within a period after completing a class. That's how I picked up my XSE.
