    Hey,
This old Remington .22 was my grandfather's and I want to keep it looking good for future generations. However theres a lot of surface rust from years ago that I want to get off. Do I have it sandblasted? :headscratch:
Thanks for any ideas! Hopefully photo worked!

from picture that actually looks like it will be need to be sanded down and or use a rough wheel to take it off, aggresive media blasting might work, but it will giveit a duller overall finish,

you might try bronze / steel wool with liberal oil to take the rust off, also let it soak in the oil for a while, that will give youi an idea of how badly it has hit the actual barrel steel
