    Surely you're joking!

    http://www.fieldandstream.com/blogs/ammunition/2009/02/petzal-rules-gunfighting

Fair Use, and the original poster included a citation, with publication date and author, full credit to the author. He didn't include a link, but doesn't have to.

Say again? You cited the source, article, and author at the start of your post.

Given that the nature of reposting the information was not commercial or profit, that it existed for edification and discussion (and thus education among readers), it included the original reference and citation to author, title, and source, it's lack of impact on the market for the article, and the lack of alteration, with an eye to the completeness and intent of the original publication, it was a fair use application and quite acceptable.

Given the posting and openness to critique, copy of the text is not inappropriate and is acceptable and legal as a fair-use rendering of the text. There's nothing to see here, and no wrong was done.

--I see the original poster has removed the article to which this thread points. It can be read in the link I've provided however. Removed or not, the original poster did cite the source, author, date, and details completely and without embellishment, and didn't claim the work as his own. Again, no wrong was done.

I always remembered one of the old western "lawmen"- I think is might have been Doc Holliday- boiled it down to:

    "Shoot first, and never miss."

Eric has stated he does not want the whole article posted, or an exert. What he wants done is a summary in your own words, or just a link to the article. The reason being some jerks have been suing sites when the whole article is posted claiming it denies them revenues from the advertisements on the web page. Eric does not want the hassle of defending against this crap, which I can't blame him for, so he put the rules into effect.

    No joke, Amigo.

I don't make the rules and I don't have to agree with them. But despite your eloquent post, the OP, you, me and all GlockTalk members must abide by them.

As has been mentioned, I have my reasons for the copyright policy and it is not open for debate. I ask that anyone who participate here respect the posting rules. All of them. Thanks. Eric
