I bought a ruger sp101 in 22 caliber last week and took it to the range over the weekend.I was pleasantly surprised with the sights and accuracy with cheap target ammo.I will start taking it to the range with me from now on in addition to the glock 17.

A .22 at the range is always fun to me. Hopefully you continue to enjoy yours.

If cheap ammo works good, try a few boxes of assorted Match ammo...

I love my SP101 in .22LR! It is boat loads of fun, and being a revolver it is reliable with ANY .22 load from CB shorts to Stingers.

Mine is no tack driver, but still plenty accurate for plinking tin cans out to 25yds. I have also shot a few cotton mouths and rabbits with it.

It makes a great trail gun, but the fiber optic sights snag on holster made for the 2" SP101's so I am stuck carrying it in a Uncle Mikes when in the woods.

A .22 boresnake comes in handy for extended shooting sessions as the chamber will eventually crud up enough that you have to press each round into the chamber.
