I decided I'd do some upgrades to my 30+ year old 1022 that I bought with yard mowing money when I was 13 or 14. Spent a few bucks with Tactical Innovations Inc. http://www.tacticalinc.com and installed an aluminum paddle magazine release, lightweight charging handle, a host of trigger housing guts plus a billet trigger, flash hider, and put it in a Choates folding stock. Topped it off with a Barska 3x9 IR reticle scope. Of all the stuff I added and modified, the best item was the $4.49 synthetic "RED" bolt buffer. It really smoothed out the recoil as the bolt rebounds off of the softer bolt buffer instead of a slamming and banging back off the original steel bolt buffer. I've got her sighted in and we're ready for some night time critter killing from around the chicken coop.
