I just picked up a new glock RTF2 and it has the straight serrations instead of the fish gills. I also noticed at the gunshop they had glock 19 rtf2's. One had straight serrations and one had the fish gills. I looked at both boxes and it said RTF2. Maybe I am a little confused is there an RTF2 and a RTF3 ?

from what i heard on GT, glock got rid of the moon cut/fish cut due to it being slippery when wet

Those are both RTF2 models. The newer RTF2 models went back to the straight slide serrations.
Feedback Glock received on the curved serrations were they were not well liked by the majority.

Customer feedback- not too many people liked the scalloped serrations

Guess that there will be some with scallops and some without until the scalloped ones sell out, then all there will be is the straight. The G23 RTF2 I just purchased on Friday was only 2 days old (date from fired case 10 Feb 2010) has the scallops.

*personally I like the scallops, the only reason I bought the G23, all the other RTF2s they had had the straight serrations. Makes it look different from the others.

The Gen 4 frame finish is the rtf3 finish.

For clarification sake, the original Gen 3's were Glocks original rtf finish. Some of the late Gen 3's came in the rtf2 finish. The latest/greatest Gen 4 17 & 22 are both rtf3's.

    Clear as mud, huh? LOL

Thanks Guy's I was curious what they were doing. I just picked this up this morning. The date on the test case of this one was jan 2oth so it's not a month old yet. I made a quick range trip and put 50 rounds through it without any hiccups. Shot really nice.

Just because YOU consider the original frame to be a 'Rough Textrued Frame', doesn't mean it WAS the original 'RTF' as considered by Glock.

Its as clear as mud because you're making it that way...

This was a fact given by instructor in Glock Armorer's course.

    Believe whatever you wish.

If you google Glock RTF you will find that the gen 3's are considered RTF. The RTF2 has the pyramoid texture with fish gills.
