Given only those 2 choices I'd go RRA, but that's just because I have one and a good friend and high power competitor prefers RRA's.

I'd say the Bushmaster and RRA are about equivalent.

I am going to say RRA..........and that is based on owning Colt, Bushamster, RRA and S&W.

Bushamster used to be the shiz-nit back in the day....mid-late 90's or so.

After time it seems the consensus was that their quality fell off etc etc and they sort of lost that prestige if you will.

My Bushamster Dissipator was an excellent weapon but I did sell it when offered a nice profit once.

I have a RRA M4 still........[2001 limited edition rifle from AR15.com]. It is a top notch weapon that has been absolutely flawless. The RRA 2 stage triggers are nice [I have heard some complaints]....but who doesn't complain right?

All things being so....I would pick the RRA hands down.

But, you will find many satisfied Bushamster customers as well.

I think the RRA is a higher quality weapon these days though.

I own 2 Bushmasters and I'm very happy with them. One is new last year, the other is an '89 model.

Why limit yourself? You can get a better rifle for the money. What do you want this rifle to do??

Just buy a complete lower and have a BCM upper shipped to you. Can't beat that quality for the money.

Between the two though I would say RRA at least they try to listen to their customers unlike Shrubmaster.

Couldn't have said it better. For $200 more you get Colt quality and a lifetime warranty. And get a mid-length upper, not an M4, unless you're going the short barrel route. The quality difference is absolutely worth the price, even if it means delaying your purchase and saving up.

What upper would you recommend ? I'd like to have a flat top, & quad rails. I want a chrome lined barrel, & no longer than a 16"barrel.

I'm saying RRA...simply because I'm that cheezed off at Bushy for what they did to/with the ACR.
