The wife and I both tested positive for Corona in May. Both went through the proper quarantine and got over it. She was showing no symptoms. For a couple days I felt like I had the flu with a 100-101 temp some body aches and a dry cough but after a week or so if that I was doing yard work etc all the same just staying away from everyone except the wife. She’s an RN and I’m a K-9 unit so we both come in contact with a lot of people. Anyway fast forward to now and she has tested positive again. I tested negative but now I have to quarantine 24 days. This is to assume I will test positive on the last day of her quarantine then add 14 days on top of that. My vacation and sick time have took a serious beating from all this nonsense. Here we go with round two

Sad. Your positive test, per many reports, is from your previous bout with it, and nothing to be concerned about. It's been shown that the tests show positives for people that had it weeks and months ago, which is the reason to completely ignore the positive test raw data.

Well, make the best of your unexpected vacation!!!

Or it could be because they got it again, which happens often.

My doctor, who's a doctor, says it does, especially for those in high-risk jobs.

    Are you a doctor?

    My grand-kids (4 & 2) preschool starts tomorrow -

My wife and I drop them off & pick them up -

My daughter teaches 3RD grade - her husband is a high school special ED teacher - they will have kids back in the classroom next week.

It is a little concerning - but you have to move ahead and live -

The crummy part is if someone tests positive - it will lock everyone down - not sure how that will work if one of the kids gets it - does that put both parents and grandparents (wife and me) in lock down too?

I debate the "often". It has allegedly happened a few times, but often?

Your doctor is a doctor? How cool. So is mine, and he contradicts yours.

Can you and your wife get tested more than once? The testing is so all over the place, get another test and it may show you don't have it.

Happened more than a few times that were tracking up here.

We require a negative test to return to work, which kind of dispels the claim a later positive test is because they had it at one point...

With our jobs we have to get tested weekly anyway. But I’m going for another test today. If I am positive then I go back to work in 14 days. If I’m negative it’s 24. Our already understaffed force has lost two of our three k9s for the next couple weeks.

Here's hoping you get to sit back, relax, and sip beverages of your choice while watching movies and munching on snacks the whole time.

Apart from the possibility of false positives and false negatives, from what I have read, some people believe that the virus can go dormant, at which point you will test negative. At some later time, it "comes alive" again. So if that is a valid theory, would this really be "round 2" or actually 1.1?

Why are you arguing with one of the nation's leading dual board-certified immunologist, virologist, and COVID experts?

    This is accurate.
One of my sons got Covid.
He tested positive, then had to be tested again to get a negative to be cleared. Now he tests positive for the antibodies but not the disease.

Another of my sons had a roommate test positive. My son tested negative but has to have 3 negative tests to clear him for work.

They both live in South Florida. One east coast, one west. If you are in your 20-30s in south Florida, I think the odds are pretty good you will get exposed or contract the disease.
