At one time I carried ammo with full metal jackets in my spare mag(s). My thinking was, if I needed to reload because of jam, then fmj might give me a bit of an edge in getting gun up and running. Other situation would be if I ran dry and had to reload then might, just might, be because I needed to shoot through something and here again fmj may provide a bit of an edge. However, after considering further I went back to jhp for spare mags, feeling slight edge in unusual circumstances were not sufficient to offset problem of firing fmj bullets in urban situation. Now for revolver I can make a case, that the advantages of fmj SPARE ammo are greater than the downside. I am naturally thinking of the advantages provided by fmj ammo when reloading. The round nose just goes in easier than a jhp. What are your feelings on the question of fmj ammo for reloads, especially in revolvers?
