I see that there will be a remake of "The Rockford Files". Starring Dermont Mulroney. I just can't see anyone else playing Jim Rockford but James Gardner. And who would play Noah Berry's part?
That was one of the best shows. Never missed it.

Great show - absolute heresy that they'll try and remake it.

I love the old shows like the Rockford files, Magnum PI, Hawaii Five O, So hokie but fun to watch. I would see it.

Brother, Rockford was James Garner. I had to check it myself to make sure.

It will be written by David Shore. Creator of "House".

i havent seen a "remake" of an old school show that did it justice yet.

starsky and hutch? (in the words of Wilona Woods) negro please.....

seems hollywart tries to get too cute and to all encompasing when they "remake" a good show, usually causing it to leave younger folks with a "WTF did you watch this when you were younger"? look

the crap bags in l.a. know they have one shot at making a big profit and they try to hard to be cute that they loose all but the nerds who would still go to a star trek convention if hilary clinton was "capt. kirk".

They're going to destroy another wonderful series?

Damn, after the abortion called The Night Stalker you'd have thought they would have learned.

Supernatural is a take of The Night Stalker. Originally it was pitched as 2 reporters but they took the family route with 2 other writers.

About the only movie remake I liked was Charlies Angels and they didn't try to us the same girl characters but make new ones based on a revolving door of angles idea.

The original was fantastic. I could see a remake being horrible.

They sure did great remaking Miami Vice lol

Just does not sound like a good idea to me. Besides they are not making firebirds anymore so he has nothing to drive.

I never missed an episode of the Rockford Files either. I loved that show.

Whenever I go to the Post Office or into a Restaurant, which serves alcohol I always take my J-Frame and put it in my Glove Box, which is legal in Ohio with a CCW. When I come back to the car and open the Glove Box to put it back in my pocket I always think of Rockford grabbing his .38 out of the Glove Box then I hear the Sound Track in my head.

The weekly series has been off the air for 30 years, so there is a whole generation that never knew Rockford, Rocky, Angel, Dennis, Gandy, Beth and the gold Pontiac Firebird. Sadly Rocky, Gandy and Pontiac are no longer with us.

Most remakes don't work, so I'd be surprised if a new Rockford Files gets anywhere. It's a different time now, and maybe Rockford needs to be left in the '70's.

Besides, what car of today could possibly replace Rockford's gold Pontiac Firebirds? Not the current Camaro or Mustang. (Maybe a Dodge Challenger?)
