I recommend you go right back and buy it at that price before someone else does. I have seen them priced quite a bit higher than that.

They were cheaper years ago when they first hit the market, but the price has crept up. Mine has been completely reliable, and introduced me to the joys of the 1911 after I gave up on more expensive (but unreliable) guns.

Apparently they're not super duper race guns, but everyone I know who owns one loves them for the price. Sounds like a good price to me.

the RIA 1911 is much like the Makarovs were.....cheaply priced and a hell of a gun, then price caught up to it based on reputation.

Maks used to cost $119.00! now youre lucky to find one for under $250.00 in descent shape.

i bought my RIA a few years ago for $324.00 out the door, tax, tag, title, destination fees, et cetera, all paid and only $324.00

i paid 340$ otd for mine 5 years ago and it's still one of my most reliable and worry free guns. my only issue is that mine dosen't like hollow points, but it'll eat fmj ball ammo all day long. it's not the prettiest 1911 i own but it's a definite shooter and i wouldn't hesitate to stake my life on it.

glad to here you guys have good luck with them, i did see those on gunbroker, but im in TN so tax is 36.00 gun check 10.00 and transfer 20.00 so it would have been 10 bucks more. ill find out next week how good it shoots if this crappy weather moves out.

The is not for a RIA, especially if that is the OTD price. If they have a tactical for a few dollars more go that route. I paid about $500 OTD for mine here in the Dallas area. You will not be disappointed in the RIA.

My go to dealer sells them for $399 plus tax, so that sounds like a good price on your end also. I remember hearing about them and supposedly being able to get them for about $380 out the door, but I have never seen that locally. Plus that was at least three or four years ago.

I actually purchased two of them recently. The second one was the Champion size, and that one was only $347 plus tax.

im not going to say on an open forum, but one of the custom 1911 smiths uses the RIA pistol as a base for his custom builds for a high dollar turn around sale to the public ..

For a few bucks more, the Springfield GI is much better 1911. The SA has a forged frame and slide...the RIA is cast.

I got the tactical's, one step up, ambi safety, extended beaver tail, skeletonized trigger and hammer, full length guide rod, and novak style sights. $420 or so a pop.

A few bucks more? About $130 bucks is more than a few bucks. Whether the RIAs are cast or not, they have proven themselves to be a fine handgun.

+1...and if the Mil-Spec seems like too much money...there's the Springfield GI for only about $75 more. IMO, the OD version with its Armory Kote finish is a great bargain.
