If half of the 100 million gun owners refuse to comply, that's 50 million felons, or about 2500% of current prison capacity. I'll gladly risk being under house arrest or serving probation rather than giving up my firearms.

The replies are great. One poster provided a ton of facts that he of course ignored.

"Countless" meaning zero... You can't count to zero!

Here's another question... if "countless" EBR owners are eager and willing to hand over their EBR's because they don't "need them to hunt or for self defense", why must it be mandatory??

We all need to spread the word that this is what ALL the democrat candidates stand for as far as gun bans and confiscation. NONE of them rebuked him on this, just silence. So if you know any gun owner that is planning to vote democrat next election be sure they understand this even if that candidate is being fairly quite or trying to back pedal on their stance on gun control in the general election.

Any such ban and confiscation/buyback would be met with very low participation by firearm owners. One main reason is they would want to see what happens in the courts. I would expect a stay on any such law would happen before it is in effect pending a Supreme Court decision. Even if the Supreme Court sides with the gun ban there will surely be many candidates for president and Congress that would vow to overturn the law when elected. Next elections would have very high turn out of angry gun owners to throw out those that voted for the gun ban just like they did after 1994 AWB even though previously owned banned guns were grandfathered. Makes no sense to turn in firearms for pennies in the dollar when there is a good chance they may be made legal again some day.

Maybe even someone as laughably stupid as Robert Francis is smart enough to not let the mask slip fully and say that he'll bring out the armed forces to kick down doors and mass murder any gun owners that don't kneel before the government. The leftist wet dream.

    Where do I start...

    A. It will be ignored in mass, Then what?

    B. States pass laws keeping them legal at a state level like marijuana, gay marriage and sanctuary status, then what?

    C. He took an oath to support, uphold and defend The Constitution as a congressman and would as President but he doesn't like the Second Amendment. Change it, but do it the correct way via a Constitutional Convention.(Good luck with that BTW!) So to say that we will turn them in because it's "the law" when it's actually an attempted unconstitutional power grab seems kind of silly not to mention dangerously authoritarian...

D.Let's say he or someone else does make it to the White House that would try to usurp The Constitution and ban "assault weapons". After that ban goes into effect they and their families will still be protected by real assault weapons.

Why is it Okay for you and yours to be protected by .223s with high capacity magazines but it's not Okay for me and mine to be protected by them?

Yeah, the Dems are a bit peeved with Pancho Beto, as he broke the covenant w/ fellows Dems and mentioned Gun Control(as per Rush this week). And not just control, but full tilt confiscation. All leftist Socialists want it, because that would give them control, and that's what these so called Elites want. None mention it, as it is a vote killer. Beto stepped up and not only let the cat out of the bag, he caught it and killed it in the public eye. DemoRATS in control will spell the end of the US as a Republic. Weapons confiscation will also start Civil War II in the southern states, as virtually no one will comply, and when the Black Boots come to knock the doors down, the fight will start.

    I love it...

It appears that Robert Francis O'Rourke almost single-handedly put up a seawall against a seemingly inexorable tide of anti-2A sentiment... :whistling:

In celebration of my disdain for this "Beto" character, I ordered my PSA "NoBeto" lower today.

Come and get it Beto, you *****!

Or it goes 180* the other way. Some asshats in my home state are pushing to get a state constitution amendment on the Nov 2020 ballot to ban "assault weapons" and mandate registration of currently owned ones. FL makes it way too easy for the people to amend the state constitution, so the process is abused year after year to stuff "laws" that can't get past the legislature into the constitution. Crazy specific stuff that has no business in a constitution.

O'Rourke needs to read US v Miller (1939) and see what the Supreme Court has already ruled is covered by the 2nd Amendment. (ordinary military weapons and ammunition that would be useful to the common defense by an organized militia)

Good point. According to the Huffington Post and The Gun Violence Archive (neither are exactly pro 2A), "assault weapons" are resonsible for about 125 deaths and about 125 injuries per year (2016). The NSSF estimates that there are 15-20 million MSRs. So the rate of death/injury per MSR is (at worst) 0.00001667.

On the other hand, the estimated injuries from DUI is about 263,000 per year (MADD) and 10k+ deaths per year (NHTSA). Annual DUI arrests, approximately 1M (CDC). So the rate of death/injury from known DUI folks - 0.536; about 32,000 times higher than "assault weapon" injury/death.

I find this particular a-hole to be the most irritating. He won't go away - like Herpes. He and Bernie with that wild, constant gesticulating grates on my LAST nerve.

The other undesirables are just really professional panderers and work like grifters to get votes. I don't listen to them. He wants to take somebody's gun? Tell him to pick an armed citizen he wants to disarm and then go for it. A "you first" moment mister big-talker.

He’s for confiscating guns from law abiding citizens, but he’s against capital punishment for the El Paso murderer. Can’t figure this fellow Texan out.

DDs account for about 10,000 deaths a year.

    AR15s account for about 150.

I’d keep Robert Francis away from the drivers seat and keep him in his **** corner.
