I normally carry OWB strong side but have used, for years, Bianchi, X15 medium shoulder holster. Have had since LEO days. Holds a HUGE amount of different handguns, from G19/17, to 1911s, to K frame Smiths.
And as you note, very comfortable for vehicle carry and deployment. I still practice with it regularly, but have to return to LEO range as many civilian ranges don't allow them, or drawing from any holster.
I don't poo poo them. If you train with them, they are viable. Does generally mean a heavier cover garment.
