They were my favorite band in high school. I started listening to them from the beginning. Their first few albums sucked, but Siren Songs of the Counter Culture, The Suffer and the Witness, and their new one are pretty good. Love thier music hate thier politics as well. However, listening to thier music makes me "pretend" I'm a gun-banning, environmental, anti-Bush, anti-republican, anti-war, hanky stomping, bleeding heart liberal. Some of it is good running music too. "Hero of War" is one of my newer favorites from them, ironic too since I'm in the military.

Well, it's not Patsy Cline or anything, but some of us like it.

I like Rise Against, most of their politics irk me, but I'm open minded enough to still listen. That being said, their live show is amazing, I caught them with Rancid (I'm a huge fan) and it was one of my most memorable shows.

I've been a fan of theirs since the 90's. The politics thing...? The way I see it and the way I tell my kids is you do not in any way, shape, or form get your political values or personal values from music stars, rock stars, or sports stars. I also love S.O.D. but I'm listening to the music and that's it.

    Wow!

Mostly everyone here likes them (except the token fogey  )...

    Cool!

This one off Siren Songs is pretty badass. Had to get their CD to hear this as I never hear it on the radio.
