I don't wear them, figure if my finger gets hurt, swells, might have to cut the ring off, and the ring may even contribute to the mechanism of injury (yeah, I said it!)

Funny story somewhat related... Going on a cruise in Feb, going to do some diving, worried about losing the wedding ring as it's a bit loose. Stumbled onto silicone rings, for athletes, weight lifters, first responders. They even make a thin blue line wedding ring. So I got one. Range from 3 for $12 to about $25 per.

Mentioned it to the wife re: the cruise, she didn't get it, just don't bring it on the cruise she said. I was, well I'm married, I like to keep a ring on. Still didn't get it, like there's a plot in the somewhere.

So I looked her in the eye and said "Chicks dig married guys".

Good thing she has a sense of humor, it's cold sleeping in the garage this time of year in Michigan...

You're always welcome a few hours south to a decent state!

I've worn mine for as long as I've been married. I actually enjoy the "how are you married, how can anyone stand you"? Comments from the drunks. Cracks me up.

Maybe I'm paranoid, punching someone with a ring on. Not an issue?

I started earning a living in a machine shop over 40 years ago. After seeing a half dozen fingers without the hide attached ......... never wore a ring for other than special events since.
That concept carried over because I always sweated getting a finger ring hung up on a fence etc.

I have a very nice gold and ice wedding band. Wear it when I'm dressed up. Like REALLY dressed up. Tux dressed up.

All other times I wear my thin blue line silicone ring. Haven't taken it off since HH6 purchased it for me. Very comfortable. I hate jewellery but this ring isn't bad.

I have worn my ring since I got married, even at work and it has never been a problem. Gotta do something to keep the ladies off of me at work. It's gotta be the uniform, well that and my impossible good looks and charm.

Alright, time to get you working something other than traffic crashes before it's too late. We can't have any of that FF nonsense in here!

Not married yet but the future Mrs. understands as she's an RN.

Anyone who thinks it's a good idea should search ring avulsion.

Such delusions of grandeur! How'd you pass the psych eval?!

The silicon solves this problem. Gets hitched on something it will just come off and not take your finger w/it.

Many years ago an officer in an adjoining jurisdiction was rapidly exiting a building when he got his wedding ring caught on a door handle. The ring and finger remained on the handle as he continued on. (not for very far I might add). That made a believer of me regarding wearing a ring.

I don't wear mine to work. It doesn't fit all that snug and if it would come off in a fight I don't want to be distracted.

I also got it caught once in an EMS cot, while bringing the wheels up. Didn't feel all that great.

I also wear a silicone one. I saw one finger get shredded with a metal ring and that was enough for me.

I was gonna get a camo colored one but the wife ordered me a green one. She wanted people to see it

That wouldn't fly at my agency. Pretty sure there's a policy about giving someone the finger...

Since I conducted commercial vehicle inspections, with my hands in some tight places, I did not wear any jewelry at work.

I know how you feel. I was looking for a single female doctor for my colonoscopy for much the same reasons.

Some of those diamond rings look HUGE!
