Right. Enough said.
Actually there's more to be said lol. The man's a WWII Vet, 92 years old, outlived his wife, and does nothing to anyone besides burn DVDs and send them for FREE to US soldiers. Cmon these guys put their lives on the line every freakin day... send them a free dvd lol.
I'd shake the mans hand, thank him for serving, than leave him to his business.
I have no problem at all with it.
He is doing what the movie makers should be doing in the first place. I think he is in the right. I hope he finds something that will make his life worth while when he has to stop.
Again, he didn't idley stand by when his brothers asked for something. Just like when his country called for help. He is still there doing what he can.
Interesting how we think it's ok because he's doing it for soldiers.
Sure he's doing something nice for the soldiers, and not enough of us do that, but what he's doing is still wrong.
Now, do I care? No. It keeps him busy and seems to enjoy it, and, like I said, he's doing something nice for our soldiers. Besides, for the most part Hollywood hasn't produced anything worth buying in years.
Wrong. Stealing for a good cause is still stealing.
He's in the wrong, but at the same time, I'd probably help him.
What he does is wrong as rain.....but......if I were his judge, or jury, I would show mercy and fine him $1 and then buy him lunch.
Although I just can't get too worked up over it, he is wrong.
Here is a hypothetical. What if you produced a product, spent millions to advertise, produce, and create said product. Your product is protected by various Federal Laws.
An individual decides, hey, I will not pay you for your product but rather just take it and give it away freely. All of you answering "right" have no issue with this correct?
So you would have no issue with someone just taking money out of your bank account as long as they give the money to a soldier or other honorable profession? Right. How about someone stealing your car and giving it to a less fortunate soldier, no issue right? Its for the soldiers after all, so that trumps all legitimate laws, including the right for businesses to protect their production via copyright laws.
My thoughts exactly!
He is wrong in a right kind of way. I would fine the crap out of him for all that he stole and profited from the institution.
Oh wait. It cost him money.
How bout a hand shake and a wink.
Who decides what movie makers should be doing? Maybe Ford should be giving soldiers free vehicles, since they are not, lets all go to a Ford dealership and steal a car and give it to a soldier. That's the right thing to do?
Wrong, if you make me choose.
Still, a hero.
He was wrong and he knows it. That being said, I don't care and neither does he.
That's sort of like saying I should get life in prison for shooting a cat in my back yard because that's what I'd get if I did the same to a human. Killing is killing, right?
Soldiers overseas don't need new Fords for morale.
I commend him.......................As someone who was over there even though I never enjoyed movies he sent. I know that when we did have a chance to watch a film or enjoy something to take our minds of the chaos for a second it was nice to have something of home. Many of our guys during their down time need some stress release and just watching old re-runs over and over again helped. If I ever met him in person I would buy him a beer and shake his hand.
If he was steeling from you, your opinion would probably be pretty strong about how wrong he is.
Half of what it wrong with our country is we mask wrongs in good intentions. "It is for the children..." "It is for your own good..." "if it saves just one turtle..." "we must spend more for education/the sick/unemployed...."
You cant pick a legitimate group of people to steal from and say "yeah, that is ok..." if you do, then you open the door for it to be you one day.
Having said that, this is on the small end of my give a crap meter.
