OK, who's going, what day, and for grins, what categories? This is the first paper match, at least for the East coast so who's brave and going?
Ill be arriving friday, and shooting saturday. Probably leaving out sunday. The paper factor should make this one interesting. categories will be CD, and AC.
I plan on driving down Sunday morning, it's only 1.5 hours for me. This will be my first ever GSSF match, looking forward to it. I read the COF for the paper options, and it seems the only reason to load more than 6 rounds on the plates is in case of a malfunction. I'm shooting AmCiv and Comp with my G17. Bruce
Me and SocomCen will be there Sunday. Edited to Add: What's the deal with the paper match thing??? gman67
I won't make this one! SC State IDPA usually falls the same weekend. Maybe next year I'll return, it's a great match!
Richmond doesn't have any steel and GSSF isn't bringing any. So we have the plates and M modified to use D-1's. Check the Hot Topics at GSSF and look at the courses of fire, they're marked for paper.
i'll drive there saturday, hope to get there early enough to regester, maybe look around. have dinner, see the sights, if there are any and shot on sunday. always bring my wife along, she loves waiting in the car for me to shot. shotting: AmCiv g37 sub g30 major sub g30 am comp g35, mostly as a warm up class since i'll finish at the bottom.
Myself and Ozzie will be there Fri. night, shooting on Sat. and heading home on Sun. Hmmmm reason to load more then 6 rds. when shooting plates, in case of a miss maybe, but with paper plates we must be perfect,so be afraid be very afraid.;b ;b ;b
That's right guys------"Hose them suckers off" . I will plink right along and IF you miss ------- You know the drill. ;f ;f ;f ;c ;c ;c
Hay Don how about leaving the jerk home this time. We only need to have the five of us riding in the war-wagon. We shure don't need any more bagage to carry with us. heheheh Pharaoh;N ;N ;N ;N
I locked him in the closet. I am expecting Anderson or better scores. I am using the same load combo this time and will experiement during the break; I Hope. ;f ;f ;f ;c ;c ;c
I sure hope the locks are good!! We had a great Paper match day. I want to tell you the paper match is going to be a speedy one. The (paper) plates option is going to beeeeee fast very fast. Sorry you missed out. You would have had a blast. Pharaoh
The GunSmoke Gang will roll into to Richmond late Saturday afternoon and shoot on Sunday morning. I am shooting Am Civ and Comp with my 17 and MU with my 17L. I never realized that Richmond didn't have their own steel. Has GSSF always brought steel to this match? If so, how many others will be affected like this?
Every club that sponcers a GSSF outdoor match that is 500 miles or more from Symnra,GA will have to provide there own steel or use the "paper option" setup! Dan
Thanks Dan, I just went to GSSFonline and reviewed the paper options for the Plates and the 'M'. Looks like I better try this a time or two before next weekend. I was surprised to see that on the paper option for the plates you only have to be in the 'C' ring to score a hit and to top it off the targets are 7 yards instead of 11 yards. At this distance, and using the 'C' ring I might actually get by with what I have a tendancy to do at times: shoot without looking at the sights. This is point shooting territory... It also will make it very difficult to gage your finish because how the heck can you know what a good score is??? Oh well, I guess GSSF is just trying to help us become a little more versitile. ;f
